- Establish engineering standards for Terraform modules, versioning, code review, environment promotion, secrets handling, artifact management and deployment approvals.
- Improve deployment frequency, lead time, change success rate and rollback capability through automation, progressive delivery and standardized release patterns.
- Drive policy-as-code, automated compliance checks, configuration drift detection and security controls within delivery pipelines.
- Introduce AI-assisted engineering and AIOps capabilities where they measurably improve productivity, troubleshooting, documentation or operational decision-making.
1. Kubernetes, EKS & Cloud-Native Operations
- Provide technical ownership for Amazon EKS and Kubernetes platform design, cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, scaling, networking, workload security and day-two operations.
- Define standards for container images, registries, runtime security, ingress, service discovery, resource governance, autoscaling and workload isolation.
- Ensure EKS workloads are observable, recoverable, cost-efficient and aligned with production reliability requirements.
- Lead root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for complex platform and application issues involving Kubernetes, networking, storage, identity or distributed systems.
1. Cloud Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Own cloud security architecture and operating controls across IAM, network segmentation,
encryption, key management, secrets management, logging, vulnerability management and threat detection.
- Establish least-privilege access, privileged-access governance, account-level guardrails, secure baselines and periodic access reviews.
- Lead vulnerability assessment and penetration-testing coordination, remediation prioritization and closure tracking.
- Partner with Security, QA and CSV teams to maintain audit readiness and ensure technical controls and evidence support regulated customer expectations.
- Assess cloud and deployment risks, document decisions and ensure remediation plans have clear owners, priorities and completion criteria.
1. Site Reliability, Observability & Service Operations
- Define and improve the operating model for monitoring, observability, alerting, incident response, problem management, capacity management and service reporting.
- Establish meaningful service indicators, objectives and operational metrics covering availability, latency, error rates, saturation, recovery and customer impact.
- Lead major incident response, executive and customer communications, post-incident reviews and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
- Own disaster recovery and business continuity readiness, including recovery objectives, architecture, runbooks, testing and lessons learned.
- Reduce recurring operational effort through automation, self-healing patterns, improved diagnostics and elimination of known failure modes.
1. Fin Ops, Capacity & Vendor Management
- Drive cloud cost transparency, tagging discipline, budgets, forecasting, resource rightsizing and usage optimization without compromising validated or production requirements.
- Review material AWS consumption trends and identify opportunities across architecture, purchasing models, storage lifecycle, autoscaling and environment scheduling.
- Support annual planning, resource and budget management for cloud platform engineering and related tooling.
- Manage technical relationships with AWS, implementation partners and critical platform vendors, including escalations and roadmap discussions.
1. Customer Delivery & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for new customer deployments, upgrades, platform migrations, connector rollouts and complex setting changes.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for cloud, infrastructure, deployment and operational issues affecting customers or strategic programs.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, CSV, Security, Support, PMO and Customer Success to align architecture and delivery decisions.
- Participate in customer workshops, solution reviews, audits, risk discussions and executive-level technical communications.
- Translate business and regulatory needs into clear technical requirements, delivery plans, risks, dependencies and acceptance criteria.
