Job Title:Design Engineer – Automotive Plastic ComponentsLocation:Noida, IndiaEmployment Type:Full-TimeWe are looking for an experienced and technically strongDesign Engineerwith hands-on expertise inCATIA V5 and automotive plastic component design. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing plastic components and assemblies for automotive applications, along with a strong understanding of styling feasibility, tooling, DFM/DFA, GD&T;, and engineering drawings.This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to work on challenging automotive product-design projects and contribute to the development of production-ready components.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and development ofautomotive plastic components and assembliesusing CATIA V5.Create and modify3D models, assemblies, master sections, and detailed engineering drawings.PerformA-Class surface analysisand evaluate styling feasibility for production.Conducttooling feasibility studies, including:Draft analysisCore and cavity feasibilitySlider feasibilityLifter feasibilityEjection feasibilityApplyDFM (Design for Manufacturing)andDFA (Design for Assembly)principles for injection-moulded plastic components.Develop designs considering manufacturability, assembly requirements, quality, cost, and functional performance.ApplyGD&Tprinciples; and ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.SupportDFMEA,
FEA/Mold Flow analysis, testing, and validationactivities.Coordinate with cross-functional teams includingstyling, tooling, manufacturing, quality, testing, and suppliers.Incorporate design changes based on engineering feedback, validation results, and manufacturing requirements.Ensure designs meet project timelines, technical specifications, and applicable automotive standards.Required Technical SkillsCATIA V5– solid proficiency in part design, assembly design, surfacing, and drafting.Strong experience inautomotive plastic component and assembly design.Knowledge ofA-Class surface analysis and styling feasibility.Strong understanding ofinjection moulding and tooling feasibility.Knowledge ofdraft, core-cavity, slider, lifter, and ejection concepts.Good understanding ofDFM/DFAfor injection-moulded plastic components.Strong knowledge ofGD&T;, master sections, and engineering drawings.Working knowledge ofDFMEA.Exposure toFEA/Mold Flow analysis, testing, and product validation.Teamcenter/PLM experienceis preferred.Experience & QualificationB.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering:4–5 years of relevant automotive experienceDiploma in Mechanical Engineering:Minimum 6 years of relevant automotive experienceRelevant experience inautomotive plastic product/component designis required.
