Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer with 6-8 years of proven experience in Structural Steel Design & Detailing. The candidate should possess solid practical knowledge in reading, interpreting, and preparing mechanical and structural steel drawings and should be capable of coordinating effectively with Design, Detailing, Production, Fabrication, and Site teams.

The role involves designing and detailing structural steel components for infrastructure and industrial projects such as PEB buildings, Gantries, Road Furniture, ROBs, FOBs, and other structural steel works.

Project Portfolio:

The selected candidate will work on the following types of projects:

- Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB)
- Gantries & Road Furniture Structures
- Road Over Bridge (ROB) Structures
- Foot Over Bridge (FOB) Structures
- General Structural Steel Fabrication Works

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review structural steel design and detailing drawings.
- Read, interpret, and understand mechanical and structural steel drawings.
- Develop fabrication and shop drawings as per project requirements.
- Prepare and review connection details for structural steel members.
- Generate and verify Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with Design, Detailing, Fabrication, Production, and Site teams.
- Resolve fabrication-related technical queries and design clarifications.
- Ensure drawings are issued as per project schedules and quality standards.
- Support production teams in understanding fabrication drawings and assembly requirements.
- Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation.





Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of structural steel design concepts and detailing practices.
- Experience in fabrication drawings, connection detailing, and BOM preparation.
- Good understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and project stakeholders.
- Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project requirements.

Software Skills Mandatory:

- AutoCAD
- Tekla Structures
- SolidWorks
- Navisworks
- MS Excel

Preferred:

- Experience in 3D modelling and clash detection.
- Exposure to project coordination using BIM platforms.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 6-8 years of relevant experience in Structural Steel, PEB, Infrastructure, Bridge, or Engineering Design projects.
- Hands-on experience in preparing fabrication and shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of steel connections, structural components, and fabrication methodologies.
- Ability to work closely with production and site execution teams.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods will be preferred.
