Database Developer (MySQL)
Job Overview
ALLEN Overseas is seeking a Database Developer with strong MySQL expertise to design, build, and optimize database solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate enjoys writing clean, effective SQL, understands performance tuning, and values reliability just as much as speed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and maintain MySQL database structures including schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
- Develop and manage stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers to support application and reporting needs.
- Build optimized SQL queries for reports, data exports, and analytical insights.
- Create programmatic database procedures to automate recurring data and reporting workflows.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring reporting workloads do not impact transactional systems.
- Support database backup and restore processes to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Contribute to database cost optimization by improving query efficiency and storage usage.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to translate data requirements into reliable database solutions.





Required Skills & Experience

- 2-4 years IT experience, including 1-2 years hands-on MySQL Database Development.
- Strong command of SQL development, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Experience developing reporting and analytical queries on production databases.
- Hands-on expertise with stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
- Developer-focused mindset with attention to clean, maintainable, and performant SQL.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues efficiently.

Good to Have

- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau,.
- Exposure to cloud-based databases (AWS RDS / Aurora MySQL).
- Understanding of data warehousing or ETL concepts.
- Experience writing readable and well-documented SQL.
