Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically strong Design Engineer with hands-on experience in sheet metal, weldment, structural design, and manufacturing/fabrication. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of engineering materials, structural stability, FEA simulations, and design optimization, along with a strong understanding of manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and modify sheet metal and welded component designs as per project requirements.
- Handle advanced solid modelling and engineering design activities.
- Design and develop structural frames, panels, and supporting structures.
- Perform/coordinate FEA and structural simulations to validate designs.
- Analyze metal properties, material thickness, load, and stress conditions.
- Evaluate structural stability, load-bearing capacity, and stress distribution.
- Work on wind load / pressure analysis wherever applicable.
- Develop designs considering strength, stiffness, durability, and weight optimization.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize designs and reduce manufacturing complexities.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.




- Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Design and Engineering.
- Advanced experience in 3D Solid Modelling / CAD.
- Good knowledge of Weldment Design and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, and other engineering alloys.
- Strong understanding of material properties and material thickness selection.
- Knowledge of structural stability, load, and stress analysis.
- Working knowledge of FEA / Structural Simulation.
- Knowledge of wind load and pressure analysis.
- Experience in panel, frame, and stiffness design.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Ability to optimize designs for strength, performance, weight, and cost.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate Profile

- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in Design Engineering.
- Candidates from manufacturing, sheet metal, structural fabrication, aluminium/metal products, or engineering industries would be preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive coordination skills with Production, Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Quality teams.
- Should be comfortable working on new product/design development as well as design modifications
