Role Purpose

The Principal Architect will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale process automation solutions using Camunda BPM, Java, and Spring Boot technologies. The role is responsible for defining technology strategy, establishing architecture standards, driving innovation, and ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient solutions across multiple business domains.

As a senior technology leader, the Principal Architect will collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, Delivery Teams, and Engineering Leaders to build world-class workflow automation platforms and modern microservices-based solutions. This role builds upon the Camunda, BPMN, Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and microservices expertise highlighted in existing Camunda engineering roles.

Key Accountabilities

Enterprise Architecture

- Define and own the enterprise architecture roadmap for Camunda-based process automation platforms.
- Design scalable BPMN and DMN-driven workflow solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership for complex transformation programs.

Solution Design & Delivery

- Lead solution architecture from requirements through production deployment.
- Define integration patterns between Camunda, APIs, databases, event streams, and enterprise applications.
- Design cloud-native and containerized solutions using modern architecture practices.
- Ensure performance, scalability, security, and maintainability of solutions.

Technology Leadership





- Act as the highest-level technical authority for Camunda platforms.
- Mentor Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Development Teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and technology evaluations.
- Drive engineering excellence and adoption of best practices.

Modern Software Engineering

- Define microservices architecture using Java and Spring Boot.
- Drive event-driven architecture patterns using Kafka and messaging platforms.
- Champion CI/CD, Dev Ops, observability, and automation practices.
- Establish reusable frameworks, accelerators, and reference architectures.

Stakeholder Management

- Partner with business leaders to identify automation opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Influence strategic technology decisions at organizational level.
- Collaborate with global teams and vendors.

- Deep expertise in Camunda 7 and/or Camunda 8.
