Position: Tax Assistant – Indirect Tax

About the Role

We are looking for a Tax Assistant – Indirect Tax to join our team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in GST compliance and related indirect tax activities and should be comfortable working on GST returns, reconciliations, documentation, and day-to-day client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable GST returns.
- Assist in GST reconciliations and identify discrepancies between books of accounts and GST data.
- Support in Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and follow-up on mismatches.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of GST workings, records and supporting documentation.
- Assist in handling GST notices, queries and basic departmental communications.
- Support the team in GST compliance and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Assist in GST registrations, amendments and related compliance activities.
- Perform basic research on GST provisions, notifications, circulars and updates.
- Coordinate with clients for collecting required data and documents.
- Maintain proper records of GST filings,



reconciliations and other compliance-related documents.
- Provide support to senior team members on GST advisory and compliance assignments.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of work assigned by seniors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Graduate in B.Com / M.Com / BAF / BBI or a related field.
- 6 months to 1 year or more of practical experience in GST/Indirect Tax is preferred.
- Positive understanding of GST concepts and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with GST return filing and GST reconciliation.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in Indirect Taxation.
