Company Description Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC) is a Sector Skill Council approved by the National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and works under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. LSSSDC leads skill development initiatives across pharmaceutical (including AYUSH), biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals, medical devices and IVD, allied biotech, and research & development services. As an apex body, it covers the full spectrum of life sciences, including APIs, drug formulations, veterinary drugs, cosmetics, excipients, vaccines, biosimilars, and related sectors. The Council is mandated to skill approximately 3.5 million professionals across diverse life sciences job roles by 2047, helping bridge critical skill gaps in the industry. Its mission includes creating occupational maps, establishing national occupational standards, developing industry-aligned vocational qualifications, and setting up robust assessment, certification, and centres of excellence to support a robust talent pipeline.
Role Description The Subject Matter Expert in Production Machine Operation – Sterile Formulations will provide technical and operational expertise on sterile manufacturing processes and equipment used in life sciences production environments. This on-site role, based in Delhi, India, involves reviewing and developing occupational standards, training content, and assessment tools related to sterile formulations and production machine operations. The expert will collaborate with industry partners, training institutions, and internal teams to validate competency requirements,



align curricula with regulatory and industry best practices, and support implementation of skilling programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical reviews, participating in workshops and consultations, providing guidance on equipment handling and process workflows, and contributing to quality assurance for training and certification initiatives. The role may also involve supporting audits of training providers, mentoring trainers and assessors, and providing inputs to labour market intelligence and apprenticeship engagement related to sterile formulations.
Qualifications

- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in sterile formulation manufacturing, including production machine operation, cleanroom practices, aseptic techniques, and GMP compliance.
- Experience with life sciences industry standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to pharmaceutical production (e.g., cGMP, WHO, national regulatory guidelines), and familiarity with validation, documentation, and quality systems.
- Background in developing or delivering training, including curriculum design, competency mapping, and assessment methodologies for technical or vocational education in the life sciences sector.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders such as industry experts, academic institutions, training partners, and regulatory bodies, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical skills to interpret industry trends, process data, and labour market information, and translate findings into practical recommendations for standards, qualifications, and skilling initiatives.
