Responsible for managing spare parts inventory, ensuring timely availability of parts for service operations, maintaining stock records, and coordinating with vendors and workshop teams.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels of automobile spare parts (OEM & aftermarket)
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving items
- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts
- Ensure proper storage to avoid damage or loss
2. Parts Issuance & Receipt
- Issue spare parts against job cards/workshop requests
- Verify inward materials against purchase orders
- Record all inward and outward transactions accurately
3. Documentation & System Updates
- Maintain records in ERP systems (like SAP, Tally, or dealer management systems)
- Generate GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), bin cards, and stock reports
- Track warranty parts and returns
4. Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement
- Follow up on pending orders and deliveries
- Compare prices and ensure cost efficiency
5. Workshop Coordination
- Work closely with service advisors and technicians
- Ensure availability of required parts to avoid service delays
- Inform team about stock shortages or delays
6. Housekeeping & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of store
- Follow safety and company policies
- Ensure proper labeling and binning of parts
Key Skills Required
- Knowledge of automobile spare parts (4W/Commercial vehicles)
- Inventory management & stock control
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, ERP systems)
- Attention to detail
- Communication & coordination skills
- Qualification
- Graduate / Diploma (Automobile / Mechanical preferred) or Equivalent experience
- 1-4 years of experience in automobile stores or warehouse
