Job Summary
The Technical Project Leader – Electronics & Software Systems provides technical
and project leadership for the development, integration, validation, and release
of electronic and software systems for Cummins products. This role serves as the
primary customer interface, leading cross-functional teams to deliver
high-quality software and electronics solutions while managing scope, schedule,
budget, resources, and technical risks throughout the product lifecycle.
The incumbent translates customer and product requirements into robust hardware
and software solutions, drives systems engineering activities, ensures
compliance with Cummins VPI processes, and enables successful project execution.
This position also provides technical leadership, mentors engineering teams, and
drives continuous improvement across engineering processes, product quality, and
project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and external
business units (EBU) throughout the project lifecycle.
* Lead the planning, execution, integration,
validation, and release of
electronic and software systems for Cummins products.
* Translate customer and product requirements into hardware and software
technical requirements.
* Manage overall project scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables, and
handoffs to internal and external stakeholders.
* Plan and align engineering resources across cross-functional teams to meet
project objectives.
* Lead risk identification and mitigation activities related to architecture,
design implementation, schedule, scope, and resource planning.
* Manage project changes, resolve conflicts, and proactively remove execution
barriers.
* Support engineering teams in technical problem resolution and facilitate
timely issue closure.
* Manage project financials, including quotations, budgeting, forecasting,
actual cost tracking, and recovery planning.
