Dotted-line functional authority over the nominated Quality Representatives for Part 21 Production, Part 145 Repair Centre (Brisbane) and Engineering, and over any team member performing a process inspection or other quality assurance task.
Position Overview
The Quality Manager owns the Microair Avionics quality function globally, covering Part 21 production quality at the Brisbane factory, Part 145 quality at the Brisbane repair centre, and engineering quality across software, hardware, systems and safety.
Each department is responsible for the quality of its own output and owns its own processes; this role owns the systems that assure that quality — keeping the QMS current as processes change, ensuring people are trained to follow them,
and confirming compliance through internal audit.
Anyone performing a process inspection or quality assurance task does so on behalf of Quality, on a dotted line to this role, so issues can be reported independently of the department manager.
Based in Indore and part time at this stage, at two to three days per week, the role holds a single AS9100-certified system satisfying CASA, the FAA, EASA and aircraft OEM customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System
Own the global AS9100 QMS and its controlled document structure. Departments own and review their own processes; this role ensures changes are incorporated into the QMS rapidly and that each process is supported by training material people can follow.
AS9100 Certification
Maintain Microair's AS9100 certification as a standing obligation — manage the certification body relationship, keep scope and evidence current, prepare and host surveillance and recertification audits, and close
