We are seeking a skilled Commercial & Sourcing Engineering to join our team. The role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing a robust supply base for high-quality, precision CNC-turned components. This role involves managing the full vendor lifecycle, from initial sourcing and technical assessment to performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier identification and evaluation:
Identify potential suppliers of precision CNC-turned parts through market research and industry networking.
Conduct technical, quality,
and commercial assessments to qualify and onboard recent vendors.
Evaluate vendor capabilities based on machinery, quality systems, capacity, and financial stability.
Technical collaboration and development:
Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing specifications, and material requirements.
Support vendors in defining the manufacturing process sequence and optimizing cycle times.
Drive recent product development and first-article approval (PPAP/APQP) processes with vendors.
Guide vendors in enhancing their processes and implementing lean manufacturing practices.
Sourcing and negotiation:
Prepare and analyze RFQs/RFPs, ensuring cost breakdowns are comprehensive and accurate.
Lead negotiations with vendors on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
