Purpose - Why does this role exist?
To support geological and geotechnical engineering activities for Hydro and Pumped Storage
Projects (PSP) at JSW Energy by leading geological investigations, reviewing geological
designs and reports, supporting underground and surface structure design, managing
consultant deliverables, identifying geological risks, and providing technical inputs
throughout project development and execution stages.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)
Geological Investigations & Assessments
- · Review and coordinate geological and geotechnical investigations for Hydro and PSP

projects.
- · Ensure timely completion and review of drilling, mapping, trenching, permeability

testing, geophysical surveys, and laboratory testing activities.
- · Validate geological models and interpretations for project planning and design.

Engineering Geology & Geotechnical Review
- · Review geological inputs for:





o Dams and Reservoir Areas
o Spillways and Surface Structures
o Intake & Outlet Structures
o Head Race Tunnels (HRT)
o Tail Race Tunnels (TRT)
o Surge Shafts
o Pressure Shafts
o Underground Powerhouses
o Transformer Caverns and Associated Underground Works
- · Evaluate rock mass classification and support measures.
- · Review foundation conditions and slope stability assessments.

Risk Identification & Mitigation
- · Identify geological and geotechnical risks impacting project safety, schedule, and cost. · Recommend mitigation measures for adverse geological conditions. · Support implementation of risk management and monitoring plans. Design Support & Optimization · Provide geological inputs for design optimization and value engineering initiatives. · Support selection of alignments, excavation methodologies, and support systems. · Review constructability aspects from a geological perspective.
