Position: L3 Backup & Storage and Automation Engineer

Experience: 8–12 Years

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced L3 Backup & Storage Engineer with solid expertise in enterprise backup and storage technologies, coupled with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Backup & Storage Administration and BAU activities. Candidate must possess Automation Skills as well. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide L3 technical support for enterprise Backup and Storage infrastructure.

· Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup, restore, replication, and storage-related incidents.

· Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.

· Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.





· Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge articles.

· Ensure backup compliance, data protection, and recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) are consistently met.

· Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance, recommending improvements proactively.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Windows, Linux, VMware, Database, Network, and Security teams.

· Participate in customer discussions, technical reviews, audits, and architecture workshops.

· Provide technical mentoring and guidance to L1 and L2 engineers.

Automation Responsibilities

· Identify repetitive operational activities and automate them.

· Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, or Ansible.

· Build self-healing workflows and event-driven automation.
