QA Engineer – Database Migration Validation

Job Summary

The QA Engineer will be responsible for validating database migration activities, ensuring data integrity, application functionality, performance, and successful business process execution following migration from EC2-hosted SQL Server to AWS RDS SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities

Develop migration testing strategy and test plans.
Create test cases for functional, regression, integration, and data validation testing.
Validate schema, object, and data migration.
Perform row count and data reconciliation testing.
Validate stored procedures, batch jobs, and integrations.
Execute performance and workload testing.
Verify backup, recovery, and failover capabilities.
Identify, document, and track defects.
Support UAT and production validation activities.
Prepare test summary reports and sign-off documentation.

Required Skills

5+ years of QA experience in database and application testing.
Strong SQL querying and data validation skills.
Experience validating large-scale database migrations.




Understanding of:
SQL Server
AWS RDS SQL Server
ETL/Data Validation
Performance Testing
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with automation frameworks.
Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
Experience with data reconciliation and migration testing tools.

Contract Details

This is a 2.5-month contract / consultant opportunity with a budget of up to ₹1 lakh per month, based on relevant experience and technical expertise.
