• Understanding and experience with AWS D1.1, ASME, API, and international customer specifications.
• Solid knowledge and troubleshooting skills in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and welding overlay.
• Expertise in root cause analysis, and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret structural, vessel, and piping fabrication drawings.
• Understanding of welding metallurgy for carbon steel, stainless steel, low alloy steels, copper, and nickel alloys.
• Knowledge of basic NDT techniques.
• Qualification and approval of welding procedures before fabrication begins.
• Welder training and qualification prior to project commencement.
• Correct welding consumables selection and trouble-free site performance.
• Availability of welding consumables before fabrication starts with minimum inventory.
• Low weld repair and rejection rates.
• Established and implemented improved welding methodologies/automation techniques.
