Senior Accounts Manager

Peenya, Bengaluru | Hands-on, individual-contributor role (may be supported by one junior assistant)

Role Objective

The role is responsible for hands-on ownership of the company's finance and accounting operations with accuracy, compliance, and process discipline ensuring timely reporting, statutory adherence, and a smooth order-to-cash cycle. This is an individual-contributor role for a mature, dependable, and self-sufficient professional; at most, the person will have one junior assistant for support, not a team to manage. The person must be equally comfortable at the keyboard (Tally, Excel, digital tools) as they are representing the finance function with confidence to management, customers, vendors, auditors, and international counterparts — communicating clearly and professionally, both in speech and in writing.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end accounting operations — receipts, payments, sales invoices, purchases, and journal entries — personally and hands-on.
- Review and reconcile ledger entries with minimum discrepancies; maintain accurate books at all times.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Ensure timely invoicing / E-way bills and documentation for order fulfilment and dispatch.
- Drive collections from customers within agreed payment terms; resolve billing disputes with tact and professionalism.
- Ensure timely statutory payments (ESI / PF / PT / GST, etc.) and related record-keeping.
- Lead audit preparedness — documentation, clarifications, and closure of compliance gaps.
- Maintain robust financial governance in line with company policy; support budgeting and cash-flow planning.
- Guide and cross-check the work of a junior assistant, where one is assigned,



while remaining hands-on for all core tasks.
- Act as the primary finance-side point of contact for international customers/vendors — corresponding professionally by email and calls.
- Represent the Accounts function in management discussions with clarity, tact, and composure.

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (B.Com / M.Com preferred); CA Inter / CMA / ICWA or MBA (Finance) an advantage.
- 8–10+ years of hands-on accounts/finance experience; a stable, seasoned career track record is preferred over pure technical breadth.
- Strong, current working proficiency in Tally ERP, Advanced Excel, and digital accounting tools — this is a hands-on role, not a supervisory one.
- Hands-on exposure to GST, statutory payments, audit support, and receivables management.
- Prior experience in an MSME / manufacturing or engineering environment, with independent charge of the accounts function, preferred.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong in Financial Accounting, Compliance, Budgeting & Audit Handling; high computer/software proficiency (Tally, Excel, digital tools).
- Attention to detail, confidentiality, and high integrity.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills — able to explain financial matters clearly to non-finance colleagues and senior management.
- Emotional maturity, composure, and sound judgement, particularly under deadline pressure or in sensitive situations.
- Polished, professional written communication (emails, MIS, reports) suitable for senior management and international audiences.
- Comfortable and confident liaising with overseas customers/vendors; sensitive to cross-cultural communication norms.
- Good written & spoken Kannada and English; professional business-grade English for international correspondence and calls.
