Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach concepts using experiments, demonstrations, activities, technology and real-life applications.
- Create a positive, inclusive and student-centred classroom environment.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments and practical activities.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Track student progress and support students who need additional academic help.
- Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, scientific reasoning and problem-solving.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure student safety, particularly during practical/lab activities.
- Collaborate with other teachers to plan units, assessments and interdisciplinary activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Participate in school events, meetings, training and professional-development programmes.
- Keep updated with curriculum developments and innovative teaching practices.

Required Qualifications





- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science / Physics / Chemistry / Biology or a related subject, depending on the role.
- B.Ed. is generally expected for school-teaching positions; a recent ORCHIDS secondary Science posting specifically lists a relevant Bachelor's/Master's degree plus B.Ed.
- Positive command of the subject and strong conceptual knowledge.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong classroom-management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use technology and activity-based teaching methods.

Preferred Experience

- Experience teaching in a CBSE/ICSE school is advantageous, particularly for secondary roles.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching may also be considered for some ORCHIDS roles.
