GM OPERATIONS

Company Overview

We are a leading manufacturing organization expanding our operational footprint. We are seeking an experienced, result-oriented General Manager Operations to oversee our multi-product manufacturing units, which include a 320 TPD Sulphuric Acid plant, an 80 TPD Di-Calcium Phosphate (DCP) facility, and associated chemical/fertilizer production lines in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.

Role Summary

The GM – Operations will serve as the strategic and operational lead for our manufacturing site. This role requires end-to-end management of plant operations, continuous process optimization, workforce leadership, maintenance execution, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Operational Oversight: Direct and control all daily manufacturing operations across the Sulphuric Acid, DCP, and Fertilizer units to achieve targeted production volumes, product quality standards, and cost efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and debottlenecking strategies to optimize yields, minimize downtime, reduce raw material consumption, and streamline utility usage.
- Department Management: Lead cross-functional teams across Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, EHS, Supply Chain, and HR. Foster a performance-driven work culture and mentor team heads.
- Strategic Planning:



Develop annual operating plans (AOP), capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals, and operational expenditure (OpEx) budgets. Align manufacturing targets with overall business expansion goals.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with statutory regulations, APPCB environmental norms, factory laws, and EHS protocols to maintain zero-incident operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (an MBA in Operations/General Management is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience as GM – Operations or Senior Operations Manager within the chemical, fertilizer, process, or continuous manufacturing industries. (Prior exposure to Sulphuric Acid or Phosphate chemistry is highly preferred).
- Skills:
- Expertise in continuous process plant management, DCS control systems, and plant automation.
- Solid P&L; awareness, budgeting, and cost-control capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety audits, and environmental standards (APPCB, CPCB, Factories Act).
- Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Telugu.

- Certifications (Optional): Certified Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ISO Internal Auditor, or certified Safety Officer credentials.
