Role: Visual Communication & Workplace Branding Intern
Project Duration: 3–6 Months (Can be extended as per project)
Location: Indore
Carryfast Logistics is undertaking an initiative to transform its warehouses and offices into “Talking Workplaces” — spaces that communicate visually with employees, customers and visitors.
The objective is to go beyond conventional warehouse signage and create an environment where the facility itself tells the story of:
Who we are. What we do. How we work. What we believe in. And how we perform.
The intern will work on this as a live implementation project, from identifying opportunities and developing concepts to coordinating vendors and seeing the final installations come alive.
What You Will Work On:
1. Explore & Identify
Walk through warehouses and offices and identify spaces that can communicate better.
This could include:
- Warehouse entrances
- External hoardings
- Large warehouse walls
- Columns and pillars
- Hanging spaces
- Storage aisles
- Loading/unloading areas
- Employee work areas
- Reception and visitor areas
- Staircases and corridors
- Break rooms
- Safety zones
- Office walls
- Meeting rooms
For every opportunity, consider:
What should this space say?
Who is it speaking to?
What should the person seeing it understand, feel or do?
2. Develop the “Talking Warehouse” Concept
Create a visual communication system covering areas such as:
Brand & Story
- Carryfast journey
- “We Deliver”
- “Partners in Progress”
- Network and capabilities
- Customer and industry stories
People & Culture
- Warehouse Heroes
- Employee recognition
- Team achievements
- Values and behaviours
- Motivational communication
Operations
- Process journeys
- Inbound Storage Picking Dispatch
- Visual SOPs
- Productivity communication
- Quality messages
Safety
- PPE
- MHE/forklift movement
- Pedestrian zones
- Emergency communication
- Safety milestones
Technology & Visibility
- Digital dashboards
- QR-enabled communication
- Live KPI screens
- Digital signage
- Future smart-warehouse concepts
3. Create Concepts
Develop visual ideas and mock-ups for:
- Small informational signage
- Medium wall posters
- Tall warehouse banners
- Large murals
- 10 10 ft hoardings
- Floor graphics
- Hanging aisle signage
- Digital display content
- Reception/visitor installations
- Employee communication areas
AI and modern design tools can be actively used for concept development.
4. Convert Ideas Into Reality
This is not only a desk-based design internship.
The intern will participate in execution by:
- Taking site photographs and measurements
- Preparing location-wise requirements
- Discussing concepts with internal teams
- Coordinating final artwork
- Identifying printers, signage agencies and fabricators
- Obtaining quotations
- Evaluating materials and finishes
- Coordinating samples/prototypes
- Following up with vendors
- Supervising installations
- Checking final quality at site
The project ends when the idea is installed, not when the artwork is completed.
Key Project Deliverable
Create a Carryfast Visual Communication Playbook that can eventually be replicated across multiple Carryfast locations.
For every visual element, the playbook should define:
Location Audience Purpose Message Design Size Material Cost Vendor Installation Standard
This will allow successful concepts developed in Indore to be replicated across other Carryfast facilities.
First 30-Day Challenge
During the first month, the intern will select one Carryfast facility and:
Week 1 – Discover
Walk through the facility, photograph it and identify at least 30 visual communication opportunities.
Week 2 – Imagine
Develop concepts and mock-ups for the highest-impact opportunities.
Week 3 – Validate
Review concepts with Operations, HR, Safety and Management and obtain vendor/material options.
Week 4 – Implement
Take the first shortlisted concepts through production and actual installation.
At the end of 30 days, present:
BEFORE CONCEPT AFTER
for the pilot warehouse.

What Makes This Internship Different
This is not an internship where you will spend three months making social-media posts.
You will be given a real operating logistics facility as your canvas.
Your work could eventually influence how Carryfast warehouses and offices across India look, communicate and feel.
The objective is simple:
Create a warehouse that doesn't need someone to explain it.
A visitor should be able to walk through the facility and understand our people, processes, technology, safety, scale and culture simply by experiencing the space.
