Role Summary
- The Engineer - Seating System supports end‑to‑end seating system design and development activities in alignment with OEM program milestones. The role focuses on CAD design, drawing and BOM release, validation support, and close coordination with cross‑functional and supplier teams to ensure quality and timely implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and execute project requirements as per OEM product development gateway systems.
- Support seating system engineering activities from project kick‑off to implementation, including QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis, design, and validation support.
- Create, modify, and release CAD models and drawings in coordination with the System Engineer.
- Provide CAD support for engineering proposals in consultation with internal teams and suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Support CDMM and implementation teams in part development, tooling understanding, and quality initiatives.
- Assist in CAE and physical validation activities.
Mandatory Skills & Competencies
- CAD Modeling (Expertise in CATIA V5)
- Design Optimization
- BOM Preparation
- Sheet metal and plastic component design
- Knowledge of tooling and manufacturability
- Experience with Engineering Data Management / PLM systems
- Exposure to global seating engineering requirements (structure, foam, trim)
Experience
- 3 to 5 years relevant to seat system
Industry Preferred
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1
Qualifications
- Graduate (BE/BTech) in Mechanical
General Requirements
- Graduation score > 80%
- Preferably from Premier Institutes
- Solid coordination, documentation, and problem solving skills
