Job Summary

Mechanical Engineering group at WITEC, supports a multitude of business units across the globe and various projects/product lines, in the mechanical design, drawing generation and finite element (FEA) calculation areas. As a key member of this group dealing with providing design & detailing solutions for business problems & new developments within Transit Engineering, the job responsibilities are laid out as hereunder:

Responsibilities

- Design and development of Transit products adhering to robust Engineering R&D; Process.
- Make delivering projects as per the cost & schedule targets set by the Business units a priority and ensure the desired quality in the output is met consistently
- Responsible for concept development, technical risk mitigation through engineering analysis and calculations, DFMEA, DFX, detailed design with comprehensive test plans, design validation, documentation, and release.
- Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams: FEA, electrical engineering, systems engineering, software, product and program management on the design modification and the selection and of OEM components.
- Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured as per performance and cost objectives.
- Exposure to structural analysis using simulation software.
- Must develop current, complicated 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, create parts lists, layouts, detailed assembly drawings, and part outlines




- Should have 3 to 5 years of hands on experience
- Should have working knowledge in SolidWorks and Teamcenter
- Ability to make accurate mechanical engineering drawings and create bills of materials for ordering
- Must work independently and deliver flawless
- Support different activities for analysis, proposals, Testing & Validation, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection
- Should have knowledge of sheet metal parts manufacturing, casting design & machined parts manufacturing
- Should be able to clearly understand the inputs and estimate hours required for execution
- Should have knowledge on GD&T; as per ASME / EN standards
- Should have good knowledge of materials including carbon and stainless steel, heat treatment process

Qualifications
