Staff Security Engineer (Data Security Engineering), Bengaluru

Role Overview

- We are looking for a Staff Data Security Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of data security capabilities across the organization. This role will focus on protecting sensitive data, improving PII discovery and analysis, building internal security tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to reduce sensitive data exposure risks.
- Design and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation.
- Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure.
- Integrate with large-scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services.
- Work closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Partner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored.

Basic Qualifications

- Software engineering experience, especially in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems development.
- Good programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Go, Scala, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services, IAM concepts, permissions, logging, and access patterns.
