About the Role
We are building an AI-powered software platform that automates data verification, enrichment, and disambiguation for a Master Data Management (MDM) system supporting a major professional services client.
The platform is designed to process 100K+ live records and support 30+ concurrent users, requiring a highly scalable, secure, and production-ready architecture.
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who can take ownership of the platforms technical foundation-from architecture and technology selection through development, deployment, optimization, and production support.
This is an AI-first engineering environment. The successful candidate is expected to actively use modern AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools as part of their daily development workflow.
Key Responsibilities Architecture & System Design
- Evaluate the existing POC built using FastAPI, JSON, and a single HTML file.
- Design and implement a production-ready architecture from the ground up.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for:
- Backend
- Frontend
- Database
- Caching
- Queue / job processing
- Cloud hosting
- Monitoring and observability
- Design the platform to support 100K+ records and 30+ concurrent users.
- Design for scalability, availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Define and document the complete system architecture before implementation.
- Make and communicate technology and architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Backend Development
- Develop scalable backend services using Python 3.14.7 and FastAPI.
- Migrate data storage from JSON flat files to a production-grade relational database.
- Design and implement robust REST APIs.
- Implement API versioning, validation, error handling, and documentation.
- Build asynchronous job-processing mechanisms for high-volume data ingestion.
- Ensure long-running and resource-intensive processes do not block API requests.
- Implement background processing using Celery, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
- Optimize database queries, indexing, connection pooling, caching, and API performance.
- Design backend services for reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Frontend Development
- Build a production-grade frontend using Angular 22.
- Replace the existing prototype interface with a scalable and maintainable application.
- Develop key application capabilities including:
- Work / verification queue
- Record detail views
- Approval workflows
- Override workflows
- Search and filtering
- Pagination
- Settings
- Administration panel
- Implement real-time updates and responsive user experiences.
- Design role-based views and experiences based on user permissions.
- Optimize frontend performance for large datasets.
Database Engineering
- Design and implement production-grade database schemas.
- Work with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases.
- Design appropriate indexes, relationships, constraints, and data access patterns.
- Optimize complex queries and database performance.
- Implement connection pooling and transaction management.
- Design data retention, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure database architecture supports high-volume data processing and concurrent users.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure.
- Set up production infrastructure including:
- Application hosting
- Load balancing
- Auto-scaling
- Database infrastructure
- Caching
- Monitoring
- Alerting
- Containerize applications using Docker.
- Establish development, staging, and production environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Establish database backup and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Support availability and uptime requirements.
Security
- Design and implement secure authentication and session management.
- Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Secure APIs and application endpoints.
- Implement encryption for data at rest and in transit.
- Apply secure coding and application security best practices.
- Implement audit logging for critical user and system actions.
- Perform security hardening across application, infrastructure, API, and database layers.
- Ensure appropriate access controls for enterprise data.
Performance & Optimization
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks as the platform scales.
- Monitor production workloads and proactively address performance issues.
- Optimize:

- Implement appropriate scaling strategies for increased workloads.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.

AI-First Engineering
- Actively leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
- Use AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and development acceleration.
- Evaluate and integrate AI/LLM capabilities where appropriate.
- Work with APIs and services such as:
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- Google Gemini
- Ensure AI integrations are implemented securely, reliably, and with appropriate monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of total IT experience.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Full Stack Software Engineering experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing production-grade architectures.
- Robust ability to make independent architecture and technology decisions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Strong experience with FastAPI or equivalent Python backend frameworks.
- Strong production experience with Angular 22 or modern Angular versions.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases.
- Experience with database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing using Celery, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong experience with Docker and containerization.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, encryption, and application security.
- Experience developing scalable systems supporting high data volumes and concurrent users.
- Strong understanding of REST API design and enterprise application architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile
