BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND BACHELOR OF SURGERY (MBBS)

Job Description:
- Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical examinations, especially for workers in hazardous zones (e.g., welding bays, confined spaces)
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, occupational exposures, and emergencies in office
- Maintain organized medical records (physical and/or electronic) and ensure strict confidentiality
- Lead emergency care protocols: administration of first aid, stabilization, and coordinating transfers to external hospitals
- Maintain fully equipped and regularly audited first-aid kits, medical supplies, antidotes; supervise on-site ambulances
- Identify, assess, and monitor workplace hazards (chemical, physical, ergonomic) in shipyard operations




- Conduct hygiene inspections (canteen, dormitories), occupational health surveys, and identify notifiable diseases as defined by relevant safety regulations
- Develop and execute health awareness and wellness programs: stress management, PPE usage, lifestyle diseases
- Arrange first-aid, BCLS, crisis management, and occupational hygiene training sessions for employees and families
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, state-level rules, ISO, OHSAS, and shipbuilding-specific health legislation
- Coordinate with certifying surgeons, factory inspectors, government bodies, and handle medico-legal cases (MLCs)
- Budget planning and procurement of medicines, equipment, and supplies; optimize expenses
- Maintain biomedical waste management, inventory control, track health trends, and compile regular health reports
