What You’ll Do - Build and maintain .NET application instrumentation using OpenTelemetry. - Implement distributed tracing, metrics, and logging for .NET applications. - Develop and enhance auto-instrumentation using CLR Profiler and .NET diagnostics APIs. - Build custom instrumentation for frameworks, libraries, databases, and messaging systems. - Ensure compatibility across .NET Framework, .NET Core, and .NET 5/6/7/8. - Analyze and optimize instrumentation performance and overhead. - Integrate telemetry with OTLP Collector, Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, and observability platforms. - Develop reusable .NET libraries, SDKs, sample applications, and developer tooling. - Work closely with application, DevOps, and platform teams to drive observability adoption. Must Have - 3 years of experience in C# / .NET / .NET Core development. - Robust understanding of .NET runtime internals and CLR.
- Hands-on knowledge of CLR Profiling / CLR Profiler and Diagnostics APIs. - Understanding of APM, distributed tracing, metrics, logging, and observability. - Experience with microservices and distributed systems. - Familiarity with OpenTelemetry concepts and SDKs. - Exposure to OTLP, Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools. Good to Have - Experience with OpenTelemetry .NET Auto-Instrumentation. - Knowledge of DiagnosticSource, Activity, ActivitySource, EventListener, and .NET diagnostics. - Experience building reusable .NET SDKs or libraries. - Docker / Kubernetes and CI/CD experience. - Experience with databases, message queues, and cloud platforms. - Contributions to OpenTelemetry or other open-source projects. - Understanding of cross-language distributed tracing.
