Detailed Job Description – Calypso Software Engineer – ERS Module Role: Calypso Software Engineer – ERS Module Experience: 7 Years Location: Hyderabad Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Calypso Software Engineer – ERS Module with strong expertise in Calypso platform development, configuration, implementation, integration, and production support . The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with the Calypso ERS (Enterprise Risk/Reporting) module , financial markets products, risk and collateral management, accounting, market data, and integration with financial market utilities. The role requires strong software engineering skills across Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Python, Angular, SQL, APIs, MQ, ETL, and Unix/Linux , along with experience in AWS cloud, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines . The candidate will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Calypso ERS Development & Engineering Provide hands-on development, configuration, implementation, and support for the Calypso ERS module . Design and implement scalable solutions within the Calypso platform. Configure Calypso components based on business and technical requirements. Develop extensions and customizations to standard Calypso functionality. Analyze existing Calypso implementations and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization. Support the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. Troubleshoot complex Calypso application and infrastructure issues. Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. 2. Financial Markets & Asset Classes Configure and support Calypso modules across multiple financial products and asset classes, including: Interest Rates FX FX Options Commodities Equity Derivatives Develop and maintain solutions supporting complex trade lifecycles. Understand trade capture, confirmation, settlement, valuation, risk, and reporting processes. Work with business and technology teams to translate financial-market requirements into technical solutions. Support enhancements across front-office, middle-office, and back-office workflows. 3. ERS & Risk Management Provide deep technical support for Calypso ERS implementations. Work with risk and reporting requirements across trading and financial products. Support integration of Calypso with market and credit risk platforms. Analyze risk-related data flows and reporting requirements. Support data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes. Troubleshoot issues affecting risk calculations, reporting, and downstream systems. 4. Collateral Management & Accounting Work with Collateral Management processes and integrations. Support collateral-related workflows, margin calculations, and reporting. Understand ISDA SIMM concepts and related margin/risk processes. Support General Ledger (GL) accounting integrations and financial reporting. Understand the interaction between trade processing, accounting, collateral, and risk systems. Troubleshoot accounting and collateral processing issues across Calypso and downstream systems. 5. SWIFT & Financial Messaging Support integration and processing of SWIFT messages within financial transaction workflows. Work with financial messaging formats and downstream settlement processes. Troubleshoot message generation, transformation,



routing, and processing issues. Collaborate with integration and operations teams to resolve messaging failures. Ensure messaging solutions meet business, operational, and regulatory requirements. 6. Integration with Financial Market Utilities Hands-on experience integrating Calypso with financial market utilities and external platforms is highly important. Work with integrations involving platforms such as: DTCC SDR FedWire Bloomberg AcadiaSoft TriResolve Market data providers Market risk platforms Credit risk platforms Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing integration solutions. Developing APIs and messaging interfaces. Supporting data transformation and routing. Troubleshooting integration failures. Monitoring data flows and transaction processing. Ensuring reliable communication between Calypso and external financial systems. 7. Java & Spring Boot Development Develop enterprise applications and Calypso extensions using Java . Build scalable backend services using Spring Boot . Develop RESTful APIs and integration services. Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code. Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers. Troubleshoot application performance and runtime issues. Implement appropriate error handling, logging, monitoring, and resiliency mechanisms. 8. Middleware & Messaging Work with enterprise middleware technologies including: WebSphere IBM MQ APIs ETL frameworks Design and support asynchronous messaging solutions. Troubleshoot MQ queues, message processing, and integration failures. Monitor application and middleware components. Support integration between Calypso, internal applications, and external financial systems. 9. Database & Data Engineering Work extensively with relational databases and SQL. Develop and optimize queries, stored procedures, and data extraction processes. Work with: Oracle SQL PostgreSQL Support ETL processes and data integration. Perform data analysis and troubleshooting using SQL. Identify and resolve database performance and data-quality issues. Ensure data flows correctly between Calypso and downstream systems. 10. Front-End & Application Development Develop and maintain web-based applications and user interfaces. Work with technologies including: JavaScript HTML Angular Support enhancements to Calypso-related UI components and applications. Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs and services. Troubleshoot UI and API integration issues. 11. Scripting & Automation Develop automation and operational scripts using: Python Unix Shell scripting Automate repetitive operational and deployment activities. Create scripts for monitoring, data processing, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. Improve operational efficiency through automation. Support deployment and environment-management activities. 12. AWS Cloud Engineering Support Calypso deployments and applications running in AWS cloud environments . Work with AWS services as required for application hosting, integration, monitoring, and infrastructure.



Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Ensure applications meet cloud security, availability, scalability, and performance requirements. Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues within AWS environments. AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent cloud certification is preferred. 13. DevSecOps & CI/CD Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for Calypso applications and supporting services. Work with tools such as: Bitbucket Nexus Jenkins Terraform Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines. Automate application builds, testing, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning. Follow DevSecOps and secure software development practices. Implement automated quality and security gates. Support version control, artifact management, release management, and deployment automation. 14. Testing & Production Support Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, and system-level tests. Support Calypso release testing and production readiness activities. Perform root-cause analysis of application and infrastructure issues. Investigate production incidents and implement permanent fixes. Work closely with QA, DevOps, infrastructure, business, and production support teams. Ensure production deployments are stable and meet operational requirements. 15. Technical Leadership & Mentoring Lead and mentor software engineers working on Calypso applications. Provide technical guidance on Calypso architecture, development, configuration, and integration. Conduct design and code reviews. Establish engineering and development best practices. Help team members troubleshoot complex technical issues. Support technical planning, estimation, and delivery. Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team. Required Skills & Qualifications Calypso 7 years of directly related experience with Calypso platforms and infrastructure. Strong hands-on experience with Calypso ERS module . Experience with Calypso configuration, implementation, testing, customization, and support. Robust understanding of Calypso architecture and application modules.
