YouTube Channel Manager

Location: Mumbai / Chennai (On-site)

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-ownership YouTube Channel Lead to build and scale our YouTube channel into a meaningful audience and acquisition engine.

The role will own the channel end to end: strategy, audience growth, content direction, acquisition, performance and the operating engine behind it. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and growth sides of YouTube and can turn audience insights into content that people want to watch, share and return to.

Prior experience building or scaling a YouTube channel, preferably to 100,000+ subscribers, is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Own Channel Strategy and Growth
- Define the audience, content pillars, formats, publishing cadence and growth roadmap for the channel.
- Own Audience Acquisition
- Build and execute strategies to acquire new viewers and convert them into subscribers across YouTube discovery, Shorts, search, recommendations, collaborations, social distribution and other relevant channels.
- Drive Content Strategy
- Own the content pipeline across long-form and short-form. Identify high-potential topics, formats and recurring series using audience behaviour, category trends, competitor analysis and channel performance.
- Shape Content Development
- Work closely with researchers, writers and creators to sharpen ideas, narratives, hooks and talking points. Ensure every video has a clear audience proposition and strong reason to watch.
- Drive Packaging
- Own the thinking behind titles, thumbnails and video positioning. Work with creative teams to improve click-through and audience engagement while maintaining quality and trust.
- Own Performance and Analytics
- Track views, watch time, retention,



subscribers, click-through rates and other key metrics. Translate performance into clear decisions on what to make, improve or stop.
- Build the Content Engine
- Create the systems and operating rhythm required to consistently produce high-quality content at scale. Coordinate closely with researchers, writers, editors, designers and on-screen talent.
- Experiment and Scale What Works
- Continuously test topics, formats, hooks, packaging and distribution. Identify winning patterns and turn them into repeatable growth levers.
- Build a Long-Term Channel Brand
- Develop a distinctive point of view and strong audience relationship while balancing short-term performance with long-term credibility and brand building.

Requirements

- 5 to 8 years of experience in YouTube, digital content, media, audience growth or related roles
- Proven experience building or scaling YouTube channels
- Experience with a 100,000+ subscriber channel is preferred
- Strong understanding of YouTube discovery, recommendations, retention and subscriber growth
- Ability to combine content judgement with data-led growth thinking
- Strong understanding of both long-form and short-form content
- Strong writing, communication and stakeholder management skills
- High ownership and ability to work independently in a quick-moving environment

Nice to Have
- Experience in finance, fintech, business or educational content
- Experience taking a channel from an early stage to meaningful scale
- Experience with creator collaborations and cross-platform distribution
- Strong understanding of YouTube SEO and discovery
- Experience building recurring shows or content franchises
- Ability to contribute directly to research, scripting or content development
