Position Overview
Merai NewAge Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Wire Harness & Assembly Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and validate high-reliability wiring harnesses and electromechanical assemblies for surgical robotic systems.
This role sits at the intersection of R&D;, system integration, and manufacturing, and is critical to ensuring signal integrity, EMI robustness, mechanical reliability, serviceability, and patient safety in complex robotic platforms.
You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, firmware, controls, QA, and manufacturing teams to build production-ready wiring architectures for next-generation surgical robots.
Key Responsibilities
Wire Harness Design & Engineering:
a) Design and develop wiring harnesses for:
- Robotic joints and articulated arms
- Motor, encoder, and brake assemblies
- Sensor and vision systems
- Control electronics and power distribution
b) Create:
- Harness block diagram
- Assembly Pinout tables
- Soldering as required
- Assembly documentation
c) Select and qualify:
- Medical-grade cables
- Shielded twisted pairs
- High-flex robotic cables
- Precision connectors
Electromechanical Assembly & Integration: a) Build and validate:
- Cable harness prototypes
- Robotic joint subassemblies
- Control cabinet wiring
b) Lead:
- System-level wiring integration
- Prototype assembly and debugging
c) Ensure:
- Clean routing
- Proper strain relief
- Vibration resistance
- Long-term mechanical durability
EMI / Noise / Signal Integrity Engineering a) Apply best wiring practices to:
- Minimize EMI radiation
- Improve ESD immunity
- Reduce ground loops
b) Design:
- Shield termination strategies
- Power-signal segregation
- Star grounding approaches
c) Support:
- EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing
- Debugging and corrective wiring
Manufacturing Readiness & Documentation a) Develop:
- Assembly drawings
- Wiring tables
- Build instructions
- Quality inspection procedures
b) Interface with:
- Harness vendors
- Connector suppliers
- Manufacturing teams
c) Optimize:
- BOM cost
- Assembly time
- Reliability
- Serviceability
Testing, Validation & Debugging a) Perform:
- Continuity testing
- Insulation testing
- Hi-pot testing (as applicable)
- Shield integrity checks
b) Support:
- System bring-up
- Integration debugging
- Root cause analysis of wiring failures
Required Qualifications a) Bachelor’s degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
b) 1+ years of experience in:
- Wire harness design and assembly
- Electrical panel wiring
- Cable routing and termination
- Electromechanical system assembly
- Robotics, medical devices, aerospace, or automotive systems
Technical Skill Requirements
- Wire harness architecture design
- Cable cutting, stripping, crimping, and soldering
- Connector termination and pin insertion
- Shield termination techniques
- Looming, lacing, and strain relief
- Reading wiring schematics and assembly drawings
- Clean, neat, serviceable wiring practices

Tools

Familiarity with:
