JD: Senior BIM Engineer

Summary

Design Engineer will develop, coordinate, and manage Building Information Models for mechanical, plumbing, and piping system including Liquid cooling, secondary fluid networks, HVAC in accordance with international BIM standards and client requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

BIM Modelling & Design

- Expertise in BIM Tool Autodesk Revit or equivalent
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for mechanical systems including HVAC, Liquid cooling (CDU, secondary fluid networks, rack manifolds), plumbing, and fire suppression.
- Produce parametric models using Revit MEP, ensuring correct family content, system classifications, and parameter data for all components.
- Develop system-level Piping &Instrumentation; diagram and translate them into coordinated 3D BIM geometry.
- Ensure all models comply with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Employer Information Requirements (EIR), and LOD/LOI specifications.
- Perform clash detection runs, log issues in the Common Data Workplace (CDE), and track resolution to closure.
- Support piping stress analysis workflows providing pipe routing geometry, support locations, and system parameters to stress engineers using Caesar II.




- Incorporate piping stress analysis outputs (support types, spring locations, anchor placements) back into the BIM model.
- Produce pipe support schedules, hanger reports, and material take-offs (MTO) from the model.
- Apply knowledge of pipe specifications (ASME B31.3, schedule designations, fittings, flanges) to ensure model accuracy
- Familiar with BIM Standards - BS EN ISO 19650, ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), ISO 22237, ASHRAE BIM Guide.

Required Qualifications

- BE Mechanical /Civil Engineering degree from an accredited 4-year university or college.
- 5 to 8 years experience as BIM engineer
- Takes strong Initiative, highly proactive, Self-starter, Result oriented, analytical, and able to multi-task.
- Good at Decision making.
- Good command over English in written & spoken communication.
- Excellent teamwork, Good in communication within the team as well as with stake holders
