Candid Video Editor – Roles & ResponsibilitiesRole Overview

We are looking for a skilled Candid Video Editor with 1.5–4 years of experience to create emotionally engaging, cinematic wedding films from raw footage. The editor will be responsible for taking projects from raw footage organization through editing, color correction, audio balancing, revisions, and final delivery.

The ideal candidate should have a robust eye for genuine moments, storytelling, music selection, pacing, color consistency, and cinematic visual language. They should also be comfortable handling large volumes of 4K footage and working within defined turnaround times.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Candid Wedding Film Editing

- Edit wedding teasers, reels, highlights, cinematic films, and social-media content from raw wedding footage.
- Review and organize large volumes of footage to identify the strongest emotional and candid moments.
- Build engaging narratives using expressions, interactions, rituals, couple moments, family emotions, and natural candid sequences.
- Create edits that feel authentic and emotionally driven rather than overly templated or transition-heavy.
- Maintain consistency in visual style across different wedding projects.

1. Storytelling & Creative Editing

- Understand the story and emotional arc of each wedding before building the final timeline.
- Select shots based on emotion, composition, continuity, and storytelling value.
- Develop strong openings, transitions, build-ups, emotional peaks, and satisfying endings.
- Use creative sequencing to turn raw footage into a cohesive cinematic story.
- Adapt editing style based on the project brief, brand style, and client requirements.

1. Music Selection & Beat Sync

- Select appropriate music based on the mood, couple, wedding, and desired storytelling style.
- Sync cuts naturally with musical rhythm without making the edit feel mechanically beat-driven.
- Use music to build emotion, energy, and progression throughout the film.
- Integrate natural wedding sounds, speeches, vows, laughter, ambience, and dialogue wherever they strengthen the story.
- Maintain awareness of music licensing/copyright requirements as applicable.

1. Audio Editing & Dialogue

- Clean and balance dialogue, vows, speeches, ambient sound, and music.
- Reduce common issues such as background noise, unwanted hum, inconsistent levels, and mild echo where technically possible.
- Ensure voices remain transparent and understandable without overpowering the music.




- Use natural sound strategically to make wedding films feel immersive and authentic.
- Identify and recover usable audio from alternate cameras or recordings when required.

1. Color Correction & Grading

- Perform primary color correction before applying creative looks.
- Maintain natural and consistent skin tones across different cameras and lighting conditions.
- Correct exposure, white balance, contrast, saturation, and color inconsistencies.
- Work confidently with Log footage and appropriate color-management/CST workflows.
- Use LUTs as creative tools rather than depending on them as a replacement for proper correction.
- Match footage from multiple cameras and different lighting environments.

1. Raw Footage & Project Management

- Efficiently manage projects containing hundreds or thousands of clips and large 4K/RAW media volumes.
- Organize footage using a clean and consistent folder, bin, labeling, and timeline structure.
- Create and manage proxies when required for smooth editing performance.
- Maintain proper scratch-disk, cache, preview, and media-management practices.
- Ensure project files, assets, music, graphics, exports, and linked media remain properly organized.

1. Multi-Camera Editing

- Sync and organize footage from multiple cameras and audio sources.
- Build multi-camera sequences efficiently for ceremonies, receptions, speeches, and other events.
- Select the most appropriate camera angle based on emotion, composition, continuity, and storytelling.
- Troubleshoot synchronization issues and missing or problematic camera/audio sources.

1. Revisions & Client Requirements

- Understand creative briefs and execute edits according to project requirements.
- Handle feedback professionally without becoming defensive about creative decisions.
- Make revisions accurately while preserving the overall quality and storytelling of the film.
- Track revision requests and ensure all changes are completed before final delivery.
- Adapt to different client preferences, including traditional, cinematic, emotional, energetic, or minimal editing styles.

1. Quality Control & Final Delivery





- Review every final export for visual, audio, technical, and storytelling issues.
- Check for incorrect cuts, missing shots, audio peaks, color inconsistencies, spelling errors, glitches, and export problems.
- Deliver videos in the required resolution, aspect ratio, codec, and platform specifications.
- Prepare versions for wedding films, Instagram Reels, YouTube, client previews, and other required platforms.
- Meet agreed turnaround times without compromising editing quality.

1. Data Safety & Archival

- Follow company standards for project backup and media management.
- Ensure important project files and final assets are properly backed up before project closure.
- Maintain organized project archives so completed weddings can be retrieved when required.
- Avoid accidental deletion, overwriting, or loss of client footage.
- Follow company confidentiality and data-security policies when handling client footage.

1. Collaboration & Team Responsibilities

- Coordinate with photographers, cinematographers, editors, colorists, and creative leads when required.
- Communicate clearly regarding missing footage, technical issues, creative concerns, and delivery timelines.
- Follow the studio's editing workflow, naming conventions, folder architecture, and quality standards.
- Share project updates when deadlines or technical issues may affect delivery.
- Contribute creative ideas that improve the overall quality of the studio's wedding films.

Performance Expectations The Candid Video Editor is expected to consistently demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of cinematic storytelling and emotional pacing
- Excellent shot-selection and visual judgment
- Natural music and beat synchronization
- Strong color correction and skin-tone management
- Efficient handling of large 4K/multi-camera projects
- Good understanding of proxy and media-management workflows
- Professional handling of feedback and revisions

- High standards of client confidentiality and data safety

Primary Software The candidate should be proficient in at least one professional NLE:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro
- DaVinci Resolve

Additional knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition, or other post-production tools is an advantage. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
