VFX Mentor / Trainer

About the Role

We're hiring a VFX Mentor to train and mentor students on the same tools and pipelines used by real production studios today. You'll run hands-on classes and workshops covering the full VFX pipeline — from roto and tracking through compositing, 3D and simulation — and help students build a portfolio that's genuinely job-ready.

- FX & Simulation (fire, smoke, destruction, fluids)
- Lighting & Rendering
- Pipeline fundamentals — file management, versioning, dailies and review workflow

Tools & Software Covered

- Nuke / NukeX — industry-standard compositing
- Maya & 3ds Max — modeling, rigging and animation
- Houdini — procedural FX and simulation
- ZBrush — sculpting and detailing
- Substance Painter / Designer — texturing and materials
- Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift — lighting and rendering
- 3DEqualizer / PFTrack / SynthEyes — tracking
- Working exposure to Unreal Engine and real-time/virtual production workflows

Responsibilities

- Run workshops and structured classes across the tools and topics above




- Design assignments and practical projects that mirror real studio tasks
- Review student work shot-by-shot and give explicit, actionable feedback
- Keep the curriculum aligned with current studio pipelines and tool versions
- Track student progress and adapt teaching pace to skill level
- Bring real-world production standards and workflow discipline into the classroom
- Coordinate with the academic team on curriculum planning and updates

Requirements

- 1+ years of hands-on VFX production experience in any core department
- Working proficiency in at least two of: Nuke, Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance
- Awareness of current industry direction — USD pipelines, real-time rendering, AI-assisted workflows (e.g. AI-assisted roto/tracking)
- Strong communication skills and a clear, structured teaching style
- Patience and genuine interest in mentoring students
- Prior teaching or training experience is a plus, not required

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
