Trainer – Assembly Line Operator (Electronics Modules)

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Trainer – Assembly Line Operator (Electronics Modules) to deliver practical, industry-oriented training to rural youth under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY 2.0).

The trainer will be responsible for conducting classroom and hands-on training in electronics assembly operations, ensuring compliance with the prescribed Qualification Pack/National Occupational Standards, maintaining training documentation, preparing candidates for assessment, and supporting their placement readiness.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver theoretical and practical training as per the approved curriculum, Qualification Pack and DDU-GKY 2.0 guidelines.
- Train candidates in electronic component identification, PCB handling, assembly-line processes, soldering, wiring, fastening, inspection, testing and packaging.
- Demonstrate the safe and correct use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, testing instruments, fixtures and assembly machinery.
- Explain work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, production targets, line balancing and quality-control requirements.
- Train candidates in Electrostatic Discharge precautions, workplace safety, PPE usage, 5S, waste management and emergency procedures.
- Conduct practical demonstrations, assignments, mock tests and regular assessments to monitor trainee performance.
- Identify candidates requiring additional support and provide remedial training.
- Maintain attendance, lesson plans, session records, assessment results, equipment registers and other project-related documentation.




- Ensure the laboratory is properly maintained and that tools, equipment, consumables and safety materials are available.
- Prepare candidates for third-party assessment, certification, interviews and employment.
- Support mobilization, counselling, induction, placement and post-placement tracking activities whenever required.
- Coordinate with the Centre Manager, Quality Team, MIS Team, assessors, employers and other project stakeholders.
- Maintain discipline and create an inclusive, safe and engaging learning environment.

Required Qualification

- ITI/Diploma/B.Tech or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry and/or training experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly-line operations, PCB assembly, production or quality inspection.
- Prior experience in government-funded skill-development projects such as DDU-GKY, PMKVY or similar programmes will be an added advantage.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of electronics assembly and production-line processes.
- Ability to read basic diagrams, work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Familiarity with soldering, wiring, PCB handling, testing and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of ESD protection, PPE, 5S, occupational health and workplace safety.
- Positive classroom management, demonstration and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and digital training/MIS platforms.
- Ability to communicate in the local language; working knowledge of English and Hindi is preferred.
