Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Steward Trainer to deliver practical and classroom-based training to candidates in kitchen cleaning, sanitation, equipment handling, waste management, workplace safety, and hospitality operations.

The trainer will be responsible for developing candidates’ technical knowledge, practical skills, discipline, hygiene standards, and workplace readiness in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver theory and practical training on kitchen stewarding operations.
- Train candidates in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
- Demonstrate the correct use of dishwashing machines, cleaning tools, chemicals, and protective equipment.
- Explain personal hygiene, food safety, kitchen sanitation, and contamination-prevention practices.
- Train candidates in waste segregation, disposal procedures, and environmentally responsible practices.
- Teach safe handling, storage, and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment.
- Conduct practical demonstrations, role plays, assignments, and mock assessments.
- Prepare session plans, lesson plans, training materials, and practical activity schedules.
- Maintain attendance records, trainee profiles, assessment records, and batch documentation.
- Conduct periodic tests and assess candidates’ knowledge, practical skills, discipline, and progress.
- Identify candidates requiring additional support and provide remedial training.
- Ensure that the laboratory and practical training area remain clean, protected, and properly equipped.
- Maintain stock records of training materials, consumables, equipment, and safety items.
- Educate candidates about workplace behaviour, teamwork, communication, grooming, and customer service.
- Prepare candidates for assessment, certification, interviews, and employment.




- Coordinate with centre management, assessors, employers, and project teams.
- Support placement activities and provide post-placement guidance wherever required.
- Follow all organizational, project, safety, and quality-assurance guidelines.

Qualification and Experience

- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Food Production, or a related discipline.
- Candidates with an ITI, vocational qualification, or relevant hospitality certification may also be considered.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in hotels, restaurants, catering establishments, institutional kitchens, or hospitality training.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward, Stewarding Supervisor, Hospitality Trainer, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, occupational health and safety, sanitation standards, and chemical-handling procedures is essential.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of kitchen stewarding and sanitation procedures.
- Practical knowledge of dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Positive classroom management and demonstration skills.
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to train candidates from different educational and social backgrounds.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and digital attendance or MIS systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate training and assessment documentation.
- Patience, discipline, professionalism, and a trainee-focused approach.
- Working knowledge of English and the relevant regional language.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should possess strong practical knowledge of hospitality operations, demonstrate excellent hygiene and safety practices, and have the ability to transform beginners into disciplined, competent, and employment-ready Kitchen Stewards.
