Key Responsibilities

- Develop innovative textile designs, patterns, prints, and motifs for ethnic and contemporary fashion.
- Create designs for sarees, fabrics, borders, blouse pieces, and other apparel products.
- Develop repeat patterns, layouts, color combinations, and design variations.
- Research current fashion, textile, color, and surface-design trends.
- Prepare mood boards, concept boards, and design presentations.
- Convert creative concepts into production-ready textile designs.
- Work with weaving, printing, embroidery, and other textile production techniques.
- Coordinate with fashion designers, textile engineers, production teams, and other technical teams.
- Understand fabric construction, yarns, textures, and basic weaving principles.
- Create and modify digital artwork using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar software.
- Prepare designs in appropriate digital formats, including SVG and other production-ready formats where required.
- Develop designs that are technically feasible for weaving and manufacturing.
- Review samples and make necessary design modifications based on production requirements.
- Maintain an organized library of textile patterns, motifs, colorways, and design assets.
- Collaborate with AI/ML and technology teams to explore digital and AI-assisted textile design workflows.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of textile design and surface ornamentation.
- Good understanding of weaving, printing,



embroidery, and fabric construction.
- Knowledge of saree design and traditional Indian textiles is an advantage.
- Proficiency in CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Adobe Illustrator.
- Understanding of repeat patterns, motifs, colorways, and textile layouts.
- Ability to create both hand-drawn and digital textile designs.
- Good knowledge of colors, textures, fabrics, and fashion trends.
- Basic understanding of SVG and digital design formats.
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking.
- Attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Educational Qualification

- Degree/Diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant practical experience and a robust portfolio may also be considered.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working with silk, cotton, linen, jacquard, brocade, or blended fabrics.
- Knowledge of Indian handlooms and traditional weaving techniques.
- Experience with saree borders, pallus, motifs, and traditional textile patterns.
- Familiarity with Jacquard/CAD-based textile design.
- Knowledge of AI tools used for creative/design development.
- Understanding of loom and production constraints.
- Experience working with textile manufacturers, weavers, or production teams.
