Job Purpose

- Plan, schedule, coordinate & execute automation testing activities

- Responsible for automated testing of systems to ensure delivery of Quality assured applications to production.

- Support Test in upward stakeholder management and day-to-day management of the QA & Test organization

Job Responsibilities

- Create, execute and monitor automation scripts and update existing automation test suites

- Work closely with the offshore team and onshore team(s) to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements.

- Ensure that tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved

- Manage Risks and Issues associated with Testing engagements

The Role

- As a Quality Engineering Lead/Quality Engineering Analyst, an expert contributing to different phases Testing lifecycle.

- Will work in an Agile SDLC, and responsible for in sprint as well as regression automation of test scripts.

- Will be required to participate in Agile ceremonies/events and contribute from the quality assurance perspective.

- Will be required to define an automation strategy.

- Will be required to design and develop automated test scripts using Java and Selenium to test software applications.

- Will be required to create and maintain test automation frameworks to ensure effective and effective testing.

- Demonstrates in-depth understanding of Selenium WebDriver architecture, lifecycle, and its role in browser automation

- Accurately and efficiently uses various locator strategies (ID, Name, XPath, CSS, etc.) to identify dynamic and static elements.

- Proficient in performing user-like actions such as clicking, typing, scrolling,



and form submission across different elements.

- Capable of launching and managing different browsers, switching between multiple windows and tabs seamlessly.

- Handles JavaScript alerts, modal dialogs, frames, and iframes effectively to maintain uninterrupted test execution.

- Utilizes hard and soft assertions to validate application behavior and verify expected outcomes accurately.

- Understands the setup and configuration of Selenium Grid for distributed and parallel test execution across environments.

- Proficiency in using TestNG for test structuring, execution, configuration and advanced test management.

- Generate comprehensive and customizable test reports using tools like Extent Reports, Allure, or built-in reporting features.

- Will be required to analyze and debug test scripts to resolve issues and improve test efficiency.

- Will be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and effective testing.

- Will be required to maintain the regression suite and responsible for selecting the right regression scripts for each test cycle.

Day to Day Automation Responsibilities

- Design and maintaining automation frameworks

- Retrieving data from arrays and assigning it to variables in automation scripts





- Extracting data from JSON files for test automation

- Automating testing involving XML data

- Understanding the differences between XPath and CSS selectors in test automation

- Understanding the various parameters or functions commonly used with XPath expressions

- Understanding the Strategies used to enhance the performance of test execution

- Making regression testing more efficient and effective

- Integrating automation tests with Jenkins

- Understanding the Steps involved in executing automated scripts through Jenkins

- Scheduling test script execution and automate email notifications to the team

- Executing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using DevOps tools

- Managing automation for AJAX-based dropdown or dynamic objects

- Understanding Techniques to implement automatic re-run of failed tests due to temporary issues like internet delays

- Generating automation reports tailored to client expectations

- Exporting test results to formats such as Excel, XML or JSON

- Approach towards automation in a mainframe environment

- Automation recommended for mainframe testing

- Running DB2 queries within the automation framework

- Understanding of SQL queries used in test automation

- Approach towards accessibility testing in automation process

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Automation scripting and execution with Java/Selenium/Playwright/Ranorex.

- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence etc.

- Experience with API and SQL
