Mahabodhi Global Foundation works on multidisciplinary projects involving Government Departments, rural development, sanitation, waste management, IEC, community engagement and development-sector initiatives.
We are looking for an experienced Technical & Monitoring Manager to manage the technical assessment, research, field surveys, MIS, data analysis, monitoring and feasibility-related functions for SBM-G and rural sanitation/waste-management projects.
About the Role The Technical & Monitoring Manager will be responsible for converting field information and data into reliable technical insights, project recommendations and management reports.
The candidate should be capable of going beyond routine MIS/data-entry work and should understand field conditions, technical gaps, data analysis, project feasibility and project development.
Key ResponsibilitiesBaseline Research & Data Collection
- Collect and analyse district, block and village-level baseline data.
- Map existing SWM and LWM infrastructure.
- Analyse village sanitation status, ODF Plus status and existing waste-management systems.
- Compile relevant information from government portals and secondary sources.
Field Survey & Data Validation
- Develop survey questionnaires and data-collection formats.
- Plan and coordinate village-level field surveys.
- Ensure geo-tagging and photographic documentation.
- Validate field data for accuracy and completeness.
Technical Assessment Assess the technical and operational status of:
- Solid Waste Management
- Household waste segregation
- Door-to-door waste collection
- MRF / segregation sheds
- Composting
- Plastic Waste Management
- Greywater Management
- Soak pits
- Drainage systems
- Community-level wastewater treatment
- Faecal Sludge Management, wherever applicable
Gap Analysis Analyse each project using the following framework:
Existing Facility → Designed Capacity → Actual Utilisation → Operational Gap → Financial Gap → Recommended Intervention
- Identify non-functional infrastructure.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of operational and implementation gaps.
- Develop practical recommendations based on field findings.
MIS & Dashboard Management Maintain district, block and village-level project databases covering indicators such as:
- Village name
- Population
- Households
- Waste generation
- Existing SWM infrastructure
- Collection coverage
- Segregation level
- Greywater systems
- Project expenditure
- Operational status
- Funding source
- Gaps identified
- Proposed interventions
Prepare regular MIS reports and monthly dashboards for management review. Monitoring & Evaluation
- Develop measurable project KPIs.
- Conduct baseline, midline and endline comparisons.
- Verify field claims against actual implementation.
- Conduct asset functionality audits.
- Maintain before-and-after documentation.
- Identify implementation gaps and support corrective actions.
Feasibility & DPR Support
- Prepare project concept notes.
- Conduct basic feasibility assessments.
- Support quantity estimation and preliminary costing.
- Prepare technical data required for DPR preparation.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers and project teams.
Knowledge Management Develop and maintain district-wise SBM-G Knowledge Files containing:
- Government data
- Existing projects
- Survey findings
- Photographs
- Tender information
- Implementation challenges
- Successful models
- Funding opportunities
- Proposed interventions/projects
Educational Qualification
Preferred:
- B.Tech / M.Tech – Civil Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Urban / Rural Planning
- Water & Sanitation
- M.Sc. Environment
MBA / Project Management qualification will be an additional advantage.
Experience
4–7 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
- Solid Waste Management
- Rural Sanitation
- Water & Sanitation
- Environmental Projects
- Government PMU
- DPR / Feasibility Studies
- Monitoring & Evaluation
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel
- MIS and data management
- Data analysis
- PowerPoint
- GIS / QGIS – preferred
- Google Earth
- Survey tools such as Kobo, ODK or Google Forms
- Basic project costing
- Technical report writing
- Dashboard preparation
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should not be limited to data entry or routine MIS operations. The candidate should be capable of:

Strong analytical ability, field understanding and technical documentation skills are essential.
