Job Summary
The Electrical Distribution Systems Engineer is responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-level end-to-end strategy, architecture, execution, transformations and delivery of LV and HV electrical distribution systems across all EV/HEV/ICE platforms. This role goes beyond conventional EDS leadership; it requires redefining how electrical power is generated, distributed, controlled, and optimized across next-generation EV platforms.
This role provides technical and organizational leadership, ensuring scalable, safe, cost-optimized, and future-ready electrical architectures aligned with business goals.
You will drive a shift toward:
- Software-defined electrical architectures
- Radical simplification of harness systems
- Integrated hardware-software power management
- Step-change improvements in cost, weight, and manufacturability
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring solid technical depth, organizational leadership, and a bias for first-principles disruption of legacy automotive practices.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership Architecture Ownership
- Define long-term strategy for electrical distribution systems across vehicle portfolio (2W/3W/4W as applicable)
- Establish platform-level electrical architecture (LV HV), including: Domain/Zonal architecture strategy
- HV distribution topology (roadmap)
- Drive modularity, scalability, and reuse across vehicle programs
- Power distribution philosophy
- Protection strategy and redundancy
- Harness architecture and power zoning
- Technology Innovation Roadmap
- Define and deploy next-generation technologies
- Smart power distribution (solid-state switching, e-fuses)
- Domain/Zonal E/E architectures
- Integrated power electronics and distribution units
- Benchmark global OEMs and Tier-1 innovations
- Build roadmap challenging traditional automotive design norms targeting:
- Lightweight harness solutions
- High-efficiency distribution systems
- Digital diagnostics and predictive health monitoring
- Cost, weight and assembly complexity
- System Engineering Excellence
- Govern system-level design, validation, and integration processes
- Load flow, fault analysis, thermal design (Simulation of voltage drop, Transient load, fault modelling under real world condition)
- Simulation-driven design (Model-Based Systems Engineering through Matlab Simulink system models and digital twin)
- Ensure robust Design Validation Plans (DVP) and system verification frameworks
- Institutionalize best practices in DFMEA, DRBFM, and reliability engineering
- Own EDS Design for Manufacturing (DFM) strategy:
- Automation-ready harness systems
- Reduced manual routing
- Program Portfolio Delivery
- Oversee delivery of electrical distribution systems across multiple vehicle programs
- On-time milestone achievement
- Cost, weight, and performance targets
- Correct layout and packaging at vehicle level
- Proactively manage risks, change management, and issue resolution
- Align system design with product strategy and platform roadmap
- Drive aggressive development cycles removing bottlenecks ensuring fast decision making and cross functional alignment
- Cross-functional Organizational Leadership
- Build and lead high-performance EDS organization, including:
- Architecture
- Design integration
- Validation simulation
- Define:
- Org structure
- Capability roadmap
- Hiring strategy (world-class talent)
- Lead collaboration ensuring seamless integration of EDS across:
- Battery systems
- Power electronics
- Vehicle integration
- Manufacturing and quality teams
- Vehicle control software
- Safety systems
- Align architecture decisions with manufacturing and serviceability requirements
- Act as technical authority in leadership forums
- Create a culture of:
- Extreme ownership

- Hands-on engineering leadership

- Expertise in electronic components, and automotive architectures development and testing
- Hands-on, rigorous, creative/innovative mindset with experience in advanced automotive system development using advanced engineering and R&D; methodologies
- Ability to deal effectively with and lead within a fast-paced, dynamic and change-oriented environment
- Deep knowledge and expertise in EEE/EV/HEV subsystem quality process
- Direct experience on EEE value chain
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in building and leading engineering and business teams that may be in multiple locations (International experience preferred)
- Management of logistically distributed projects and team
- Knowledge about the most common automotive communication line and power distribution systems (CAN, LIN, K-Line, FlexRay etc.)
- Project management experience
- High-voltage distribution system design in electric vehicles
