Role Description As a Tech Lead – Backend (Node.js) at Skeps, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of scalable backend services that power our POS financing platform. This full-time, on-site role is based in Gurgaon and involves owning technical architecture, guiding implementation of APIs and microservices, and ensuring performance, security, and reliability of backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, and DevOps to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, conduct code reviews, and maintain coding standards.

The role includes mentoring backend developers, troubleshooting complex production issues,



optimizing databases and integrations, and contributing to best practices in software development and deployment. You will also participate in sprint planning, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

- Strong backend development skills with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable architectures, microservices, and distributed systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency with databases (SQL and NoSQL), data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, version control (Git), and documentation.
- Exposure to financial services or fintech products, payment systems, or POS financing solutions is a robust advantage.
- Demonstrated experience (8–10 years) in backend development, including leadership or mentoring responsibilities within engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
