ABOUT THE ROLE
We are recruiting for a a growing, family-run global online retail business expanding UK eCommerce operation across five brand portfolios. The candidate will lead the current eCommerce operations team managing catalogue quality, content standards, and Shopify store optimization across five retail brands.
Months 1 to 3: Hands-on learning of company processes and systems. Month 4+:Transition to strategy and team development.
Daily collaboration with UK directors; single point of contact for India team priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leadership: Manage the operations executives; conduct feedback, one-on-ones, performance reviews, accountability
- Catalogue QA: Establish and enforce quality standards; audit product data, imagery, descriptions across five brands
- Content Standards: Define content guidelines; train team; review and approve output
- Shopify Management: Manage/optimize existing stores; troubleshoot issues; monitor performance; handle app integration
- Process & SOPs: Document existing processes; identify gaps; implement improvements; ensure team compliance
- UK Collaboration: Daily check-ins with UK directors; weekly reports; escalate issues; align priorities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
ESSENTIAL
- Shopify Experience: 2 to 3 years hands-on managing Shopify stores (not marketplace platforms)
- Store configuration, app integration, troubleshooting, analytics
- Specific examples of stores managed and issues resolved
- NOT required: Custom coding or theme development
- Team Leadership: Real supervisory experience (current or previous)
- Performance feedback, delegation, accountability, conflict resolution
- Managed 13+ people (team size doesn't need to be large, but must be genuine management)
- Examples of handling performance issues or difficult conversations
- Process-Driven Mindset:
- Documented processes or led SOP/process improvements
- Comfortable with structure, standards, and documentation
- Quality-focused; attention to detail
- Communication:
- Strong written and spoken English (for UK daily collaboration)
- Proactive, async-first communication
- Comfortable with remote work and distributed teams
- Hands-On Orientation: Willing to contribute to execution first 2–3 months while learning company systems
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- eCommerce operations background (operations, catalogue management, marketplace management)
- Multi-brand experience
- Quality/QA ownership; audit or standards-setting experience
- Retail or D2C background
- Vendor/supplier management experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fully remote (India-based)
- UK-aligned working hours (daily 9–10 AM UK time 2:30–3:30 PM India time)

WORK HOURS
- It's a hybrid flexible setup aligned with UK business hours — Monday to Friday. Core hours are 9 AM–2 PM UK time (adjusts by an hour depending on BST/GMT), when you need to be online and actively working. Outside that window, you can schedule your remaining hours flexibly, coordinating with your manager. Total working time is 9 hours/day (excluding a 30-min lunch break), capped at 48 hours/week.
