Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning &
- Scheduling
1. Lead the overall maintenance planning and scheduling function for the plant, ensuring effective planning of routine, preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
2. Own and review the 4-week rolling maintenance plan through SAP-PM and ensure timely conversion of identified requirements into executable maintenance plans.
3. Develop and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance plans in coordination with Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, and other supporting functions.
4. Ensure effective synchronization of Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PDM), equipment changeover, inspection, and statutory maintenance schedules.
5. Review and approve detailed maintenance plans for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil activities.
6. Ensure optimal prioritization of maintenance activities based on equipment criticality, production requirements, safety, reliability, and resource availability.
7. Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning processes, systems, and planning effectiveness.
Shutdown &
- Turnaround Planning
1. Lead the planning and scheduling of plant shutdowns and turnarounds, ensuring scope, resources, materials, manpower, and timelines are clearly defined.
2. Coordinate with all maintenance disciplines, Operations, Projects, Reliability, Procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure shutdown readiness.
3. Review shutdown scope and ensure timely identification of materials, manpower, contractors, equipment, and other resources required for execution.
4. Monitor shutdown progress against the approved plan and proactively identify and resolve schedule deviations.
5. Provide regular updates and feedback to the relevant planning and management teams on shutdown progress, risks, and recovery actions.
SAP-PM &
- Maintenance Data Management
1. Ensure effective utilization of SAP-PM for maintenance planning, scheduling, work-order management, and maintenance history.
2. Ensure integrity and completeness of maintenance master data, including BOMs, equipment records,
maintenance plans, task lists, and work orders.
3. Review and validate BOMs and their uploading in SAP for new and existing equipment.
4. Ensure VED analysis is validated and appropriately reflected in maintenance planning and inventory requirements.
5. Ensure PM and CM plans are established and maintained based on equipment criticality, reliability requirements, and maintenance strategies.
6. Ensure applicable company procedures, maintenance standards, and monitoring requirements are appropriately mapped and maintained in SAP.
Team Leadership &
- Resource Management
1. Lead, mentor, and develop the Maintenance Planning team, ensuring effective allocation of responsibilities and achievement of planning targets.
2. Review team performance and ensure timely completion of planning deliverables.
3. Identify capability gaps and facilitate training and skill development of planning personnel.
4. Plan and optimize manpower, contractor resources, tools, equipment, and other resources required for maintenance execution.
5. Monitor contractor performance and participate in contractor evaluation, validation, and improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Coordination
1. Act as the key coordination point between Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Projects, Procurement, Central Workshop, CES, and other functions for maintenance planning activities.
2. Conduct and lead regular planning review meetings to identify bottlenecks, pending activities, resource constraints, and schedule risks.
3. Attend daily plant rack-up meetings and ensure maintenance priorities are incorporated into the next-day plan.
4. Review and approve the next-day maintenance plan following discussions with Process/Section In-charges and Operations.
5.
Liaise with the Central Workshop to ensure timely planning and execution of plant-related jobs.
6. Coordinate with CES Planning for effective shutdown monitoring, progress tracking, and schedule control.
Performance Monitoring &
- Reporting
1. Establish and monitor maintenance planning KPIs such as plan adherence, schedule compliance, backlog, PM compliance, schedule attainment, and resource utilization.
2. Prepare and review MIS, dashboards, and management reports on maintenance performance and planning effectiveness.
3. Analyze planning performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
4. Monitor maintenance backlog and ensure timely prioritization and closure of overdue work orders.
5. Provide management with regular visibility on maintenance readiness, upcoming workload, resource requirements, and critical schedule risks.
Audit, Compliance &
- Continuous Improvement
1. Ensure maintenance planning activities comply with applicable company policies, procedures, standards, and statutory requirements.
2. Participate in and lead maintenance planning-related internal and external audits.
3. Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
4. Drive initiatives to improve maintenance planning accuracy, equipment availability, schedule adherence, cost effectiveness, and overall maintenance reliability.
Project-Related Planning
1. Support project teams during the planning and execution of maintenance-related projects and equipment installation activities.
2. Ensure BOMs, maintenance plans, task lists, and relevant SAP-PM master data are established before commissioning of current equipment.
3. Ensure appropriate PM and CM strategies are developed and implemented for newly commissioned equipment.
4. Participate in project reviews, commissioning readiness activities, and PSSR from a maintenance planning perspective.
5. Ensure maintenance planning requirements are incorporated into MOC/CAPEX projects and equipment handover processes.
