About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reflective Humanities Teacher to join our Cambridge Lower Secondary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students understand people, societies, cultures, places and the world around them through inquiry, discussion and critical thinking.

The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Humanities lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary framework, while encouraging students to question, analyse, research and form their own perspectives.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons for Cambridge Lower Secondary students.

Cover concepts across History, Geography, society, culture and global perspectives, as applicable to the curriculum.

Use inquiry-based and student-centred teaching approaches.

Develop students’ critical thinking, research, communication and analytical skills.

Encourage students to connect classroom learning with real-world issues and current events.

Design projects, discussions, presentations, research activities and interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Assess student progress and provide constructive, meaningful feedback.

Maintain appropriate lesson plans, assessments and academic records.





Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.

Collaborate with other subject teachers to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Contribute to school events, projects, exhibitions and co-curricular activities.

Support the school’s culture of curiosity, independent learning and holistic development.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Humanities, Social Sciences or a related discipline.

Prior experience teaching Cambridge Lower Secondary / IGCSE is preferred.

Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.

Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.

Ability to make Humanities relevant, engaging and experiential for young learners.

Comfortable using technology and wide-ranging teaching resources.
