About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced TDS Executive to join our
Finance & Taxation team at our Shankar Nagar, Nagpur office.
The ideal candidate should have 0 – 1 year of hands-on experience in TDS-related matters, preferably with experience working in a CA firm, tax consultancy or consulting organisation.
The role will primarily focus on TDS compliance, quarterly return preparation and filing, TDS reconciliation, challan and ledger verification, TRACES-related activities and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and file quarterly TDS returns in accordance with applicable Income Tax laws.
- Deduct and verify TDS under relevant sections of the Income Tax Act.
- Prepare and reconcile TDS workings, challans and ledgers.
- Ensure timely payment of TDS liabilities and adherence to statutory deadlines.
- Download, verify and issue Form 16A certificates.
- Reconcile TDS records with Form 26AS and the TRACES portal.
- Handle TDS-related data, corrections and compliance requirements on the TRACES portal.
- Review TDS applicability and deduction under relevant sections and rates.
- Assist in resolving TDS mismatches and reconciliation differences.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1 and GSTR 3B, whenever required.
- Maintain tax records, compliance documentation and statutory reports.
- Prepare MIS reports related to TDS, GST and taxation activities.
- Coordinate with clients and internal departments to obtain tax-related information and supporting documentation.
- Assist in handling tax notices, audits and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Keep updated with changes in TDS, Income Tax and GST laws and ensure applicable changes are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST and other applicable statutory regulations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 0 – 1 year of relevant experience in TDS and taxation-related matters.
- Preference for candidates who have worked with a CA firm, tax consultancy or consulting organisation.
- Strong understanding of TDS provisions, deductions, return filing and statutory compliance.
- Good knowledge of relevant TDS sections, rates and applicability.
- Hands-on experience with TRACES and TDS return filing.
- Good understanding of Form 26AS, Form 16/16A and TDS reconciliation.
- Basic to good understanding of GST and accounting concepts.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Advanced Excel, including:
o VLOOKUP o XLOOKUP o Pivot Tables o Conditional Formatting o Data Analysis
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
