Job Purpose The Supply Chain Engineer will be responsible for material planning, procurement coordination, inventory management, vendor follow-up, job-work coordination and supply chain system development. The role will focus on ensuring the right material is available at the right quantity and right time while minimizing shortages, delays and unnecessary inventory.

Key Responsibilities

- Review production schedules and determine material requirements for the next 3–7 days.

- Monitor inventory levels, lead times, safety stock and reorder requirements.

- Raise and track Purchase Orders through ERP systems.

- Follow up with vendors and ensure timely delivery of critical materials.

- Identify potential material shortages and escalate risks before they affect production.

- Coordinate with Stores, Logistics, Manufacturing, Purchase and Finance teams.

- Coordinate outsourced/job-work activities and track material dispatch and return.

- Maintain item master, vendor master, lead times, MOQ and payment-term information.

- Develop and maintain safety stock and reorder-point systems.

- Maintain Approved Vendor Lists and support alternate-vendor development.

- Prepare vendor performance scorecards covering delivery, quality, response time and pricing.

- Maintain rate-contract records and monitor purchase-price trends.

- Track monthly purchase spend and identify cost-reduction opportunities.

- Prepare weekly and monthly Supply Chain MIS covering open POs, deliveries, delays, material risks, vendor performance and savings.





- Maintain accurate procurement, inventory and vendor documentation.

- Support implementation and effective use of ERP/inventory management systems.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of Supply Chain, Procurement and Inventory Management.

- Experience with Purchase Orders and vendor coordination.

- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MIS preparation.

- Experience with Zoho Inventory, Tally or other ERP systems preferred.

- Ability to understand basic engineering drawings/BOMs and material specifications.

- Knowledge of safety stock, reorder points and lead-time management.

- Strong vendor follow-up and negotiation-support skills.

- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skills.

- Proactive approach to identifying material and production risks.

Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline preferred.

- Diploma candidates with strong supply chain/manufacturing experience may also be considered.

- 2–4 years of experience in purchase, procurement or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing.

- Experience in sheet metal, engineering goods or industrial manufacturing will be an advantage.

- Experience in ERP-based PO/inventory management preferred.

- Willingness to coordinate closely with manufacturing and site/operations teams.

Good to Have

- Zoho Inventory experience.

- Experience designing safety-stock and reorder-point systems.

- Vendor performance/scorecard experience.

- Knowledge of CRCA sheets, powder coating or welding consumables.

- Job-work/vendor coordination experience.

- Basic understanding of ABC analysis, inventory turns and total cost of ownership.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
