Job Role / Job Overview

Location : Pune, India - Reports to Global Deployment Manager, Operations.

- Auditing / approving suppliers processes vs defined approval criteria’s (Supplier investments in equipment & people)
- Establish a supplier rating system for approved, conditionally approved, not approved that is data robust and based upon tangible data only.
- Completing critical supplier QBR (Quarterly Business Review) data. (Quality DPPM + On time deliver data + Supplier improvement plans / actions)
- Defining supplier improvement plans (Critical must do’s time scaled to remain approved / Conditionally approved)
- Establish and agree buffer stock / fast turnaround of any non compliant parts with Purchasing support in the form of supplier contracts and penalties as appropriate.




- Instructing on supplier PPAP and APQP requirements. (Ensuring data is specific to critical needs and real / auditable / tangible)
- Helping supplier to succeed through critical Volex NPI (New Project Introductions) stages. (Understanding of fool proof CTQ’s, AQP’s, testing and validations to ensure six sigma OTD deliverables clearly defined in SMART supplier visit reports)

Responsibilities

- Create, implement and monitor supplier development initiatives including supplier qualification, supplier selection, on-going supplier performance management & reviews, process improvements for quality KPIs and audits to determine adherence to acceptable quality regulations and requirements.
- You will demonstrate ‘mature influential leadership’ in your supplier management role.
- You will produce supplier visit reports, ensure ‘tangible’ critical improvement needs areunderstood & agreed to set timescales.
- Standardize Supplier QBR’s that are appropriate to critical suppliers ensuring timely feedback and improvement actions are implemented.
- Audit / Verifies all Poka Yoke, Test & Inspection supplier related processes.
- Ensure Supplier critical data is defined and part of relevant to product quality C of C’s including sample and data to then be AQL validated risk dependent by Volex IQC.




- Strategically advise of risk/s from lack of supplier development in equipment and people to the defined business owners formally for support if investments are not forthcoming to agreed timescales especially in cases of ‘Conditional approval’.
- Follow-up on 8D corrective actions to ensure quality problems are resolved effectively using quality tools such as Ishikawa Fish bone analysis & 4M audits. Pareto, Histogram, Trend / Run Charts, SPC, F-MEA, 5 Why,
- Provide Inspection & Workmanship standards suppliers should be registered with and utilizing such as related WMCA- IPC guides. Advise and help suppliers with SMART data & tools as required.
- Own & Coordinate weekly internal MRB reviews with related stakeholders.
- Reject / Replace RM urgently, clean and flush any quarantine situations, set up supplier in house reworks and re-validations as appropriate with stakeholder alignments.

General Profile and Requirements

- Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience – 5 years SQE experience required.
- Good command of English Oral & written.
- Good command of PC literacy & MS suite software required.
- Excellent analytical skills are a must.
- A highly Value Adding quality skilled credentials required.
- Knowledge of how to use quality tools effectively & appropriately required such as APQP, QRQC, PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, 4M, 6S etc
