Role & responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) activities and supplier performance monitoring.
- Monitor Supplier PPM, rejection, defects, complaints and quality-related costs.
- Identify critical / poor-performing suppliers and drive structured improvement plans.
- Conduct supplier process, system and periodic performance audits.
- Ensure supplier compliance with drawings, specifications, process controls and quality standards.
- Lead APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA activities for new and existing products.
- Drive supplier corrective actions through 8D, RCA, CAPA and defect-prevention methodologies.
- Develop suppliers on process capability, Poka-Yoke and Right First Time / Zero Defect practices.
- Reduce incoming rejection, line rejection, sorting, rework, scrap and line stoppages.
- Guide Supplier Quality Engineers / Inspectors and monitor action closure.
- Lead supplier improvement projects for critical and high-risk components.
- Work closely with Purchase, Production, Engineering, PPC and Customer Quality teams.
1. PRODUCT / COMPONENT EXPERIENCE
Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and automotive/engineering components, including:
Hydraulic Products:
Tipping Hydraulic Cylinders | Oil Pumps | Direct / Directional Control Valves | Hydraulic Oil Tanks / Reservoirs
Supplier Components & Processes:
- Metal: Machined, sheet metal, fabricated and precision components
- Casting: Aluminium, SG Iron, CI and other ferrous/non-ferrous castings
- Plastic: Injection-moulded and engineering plastic components
- Rubber: O-rings, seals, bushes, hoses and rubber components
- Forging, welding, heat treatment and surface treatment
- Assembly, pressure testing, leakage testing and functional testing

1. CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Mechanical Engineering background is mandatory.
- 812 years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality / Supplier Development.
- Solid hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical components.
- Hydraulic product/component experience is preferred.
- Ability to technically evaluate, develop and challenge suppliers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel to supplier locations for audits and improvement activities.
