Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse – Labour Room to provide safe and quality nursing care to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal patients. The candidate will assist doctors during labour and delivery, monitor mothers and newborns, and ensure compliance with hospital clinical and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide nursing care to patients admitted to the Labour Room.
- Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate and labour progress.
- Assist Obstetricians during normal and assisted deliveries and emergency procedures.
- Prepare patients for labour, delivery and related procedures.
- Assist in emergency obstetric care as directed by the doctor.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient assessment, nursing care, medications and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients during and after delivery and report any abnormal findings immediately.
- Provide immediate newborn care and assist with newborn assessment as per hospital protocol.
- Maintain infection prevention and control practices in the Labour Room.
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency drugs, equipment and delivery-room supplies.
- Maintain proper sterilization,



cleanliness and protected handling of equipment.
- Support and educate patients and attendants regarding procedures and post-delivery care.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, paediatricians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, patient-safety standards and NABH requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in shift handovers and ensure proper continuity of patient care.
- Perform other nursing duties assigned by the Nursing In-charge / HOD.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of labour room procedures and obstetric nursing care.
- Ability to identify and respond promptly to emergency situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good documentation and clinical record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night duty.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in Labour Room / Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be preferred.
- Experience in handling normal delivery, emergency obstetric cases and newborn care will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹23,500.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
