We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer with strong expertise in database design, performance tuning, and data migration, along with hands-on experience using AWS Glue for ETL and data integration. The ideal candidate will work closely with backend, data, and cloud teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions in AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for high-availability and high-performance systems

- Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexes

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning

- Develop and manage AWS Glue ETL jobs (PySpark / Python) for data ingestion, transformation, and migration

- Handle large-scale data migrations between on-premises and AWS cloud environments

- Implement and maintain data validation, reconciliation, and post-migration verification scripts

- Work with CDC (Change Data Capture), incremental loads, and batch processing

- Ensure data security, integrity, backup, and recovery strategies

- Collaborate with application, DevOps,



and analytics teams for seamless data integration

- Troubleshoot production database and Glue job issues and perform root cause analysis

- Document database designs, ETL workflows, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 8+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database development

- Strong expertise in SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis

- Solid experience with AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, Crawlers, and Job monitoring

- Proficiency in Python / PySpark for ETL development

- Experience with AWS services such as S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL

- Robust understanding of data modeling, normalization, and schema design

- Experience handling large datasets and high-volume transactional systems

- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Good to Have

- Experience with pgBouncer, replication, and high-availability setups

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and analytics workloads

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
