The ESB Lead will own the design, development, security and day-to-day administration of the organization's Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) layer — the central integration backbone connecting all internal applications and channels with external partner and vendor systems. The role requires strong hands-on expertise across integration architecture, database management, networking and authentication/security.

● Own end-to-end architecture, design, build and administration of the ESB platform integrating all internal applications and external partner/vendor channels.

● Design integration solutions using SOA/microservices principles — message queuing, pub-sub, request-reply, orchestration.

● Manage and optimize the database layer supporting the ESB — schema design, stored procedures, indexing, query tuning, replication, high availability, and backup/DR.

● Define and enforce API management standards across integrations — versioning, throttling/rate limiting, idempotency, retry and circuit-breaker patterns, structured error handling.

● Architect and implement secure authentication and authorization for internal and external integrations — OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, SAML, API keys, and end-to-end PKI/certificate lifecycle management.

● Own network-level connectivity and security for ESB integrations — firewall rule requests, VPN /MPLS setup with external vendors, DMZ architecture, load balancers/reverse proxies, and IP whitelisting.

● Lead technical onboarding of current external vendor/partner integrations — discovery, interface specification, sequence/DFD design, UAT coordination and go-live.

● Partner with InfoSec on VAPT, secure code reviews and regulatory compliance for the ESB layer, and drive closure of audit findings.

● Lead root-cause analysis and permanent fixes for production integration issues; own ESB uptime, performance and capacity planning.

● Mentor and lead a team of integration developers; manage OEM/vendor SLAs for ESB platform support.





- Maintain integration documentation — architecture diagrams, DFDs, sequence diagrams and the API/interface inventory — and act as the technical point of contact for the ESB across engineering, InfoSec, and business/vendor stakeholders.

Applicants should possess the following attributes:

- Strong hands-on experience with ESB/middleware platforms and integration development for connecting internal applications with external partner/vendor systems.
- Proficient in relational database management (e.g., MSSQL Server) —stored procedures/triggers, query optimization, indexing, replication, high availability, and backup/DR.
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts — TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, firewalls, VPN, DMZ architecture and network segmentation.
- Working knowledge of authentication and security protocols — OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, mutual TLS (mTLS), PKI/certificate management, and API key/secret management.
- Experience with API design and management — REST/SOAP, XML/JSON, WSDL, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API gateway concepts.
- Working knowledge of message queuing/event technologies (e.g., MQ, Kafka, or equivalent).
- Exposure to credit card/BFSI systems integration and payment/card network connectivity is highly desirable.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to digital lending/payments (e.g., PCI-DSS, applicable data protection regulations).
- Exposure to cloud/on-prem hybrid environments and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability with the capacity to lead a team and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
