Technical Lead - Java/J2EE, Payments Platform

Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with business teams, architects, QA, DevOps, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, payment service integrations, and enterprise applications supporting Money platforms.
- Drive technical design discussions, code reviews, coding standards, and development best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Mentor and guide developers, providing technical leadership and support throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system stability challenges.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability for high-volume transaction processing systems.
- Ensure adherence to secure coding standards, API security practices, and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with QA and operations teams to support testing, deployments, and production releases.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:





- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10-14 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development, with at least 3+ years in a Technical Lead role.
- Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL.
- Experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture principles, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Exposure to CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is an advantage.
- Experience in Digital Payments, Mobile Wallets, FinTech, Banking, or Telecom Financial Services is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and drive delivery in a rapid-paced environment.

Preferred Domain Experience: Mobile Wallets, Payments, Remittance, Merchant Payments, QR Payments, Banking Integrations, eKYC, and Digital Financial Services.
